UK and Ireland law firm, Browne Jacobson is backing a national effort to mobilise millions of volunteers while strengthening its employee volunteering offer, as a Founder Member of GoVo , the digital volunteering platform developed by Royal Voluntary Service.

Leading South West law firm Stephens Scown LLP has advised Canadian company Strongbow Exploration Inc on the completion of the acquisition, from administration, of the South Crofty tin mine in Cornwall. New women only marathon announced for Devon

A new women-only marathon has been announced for Devon in 2017 to mark the 50th anniversary of a famous incident which helped pave the way for women to be able to officially take part in marathons.

The Women Can marathon on 28 May 2017 is almost entirely off-road, taking in the breathtaking Otter and Sid Valleys and part of the South West Coast Path on the Jurassic Coast World Heritage Site in East Devon.

Largely rural, the course also includes picturesque Devon villages and the towns of Sidmouth and Ottery St Mary.

Pokemon Go! appears at Plymouth Science Park

GLOBAL online game craze Pokemon Go! has appeared at Plymouth Science Park.

The game is a free location-based reality game which allows players to capture, battle and train ‘virual’ Pokemon who appear throughout the real world.

It hasn’t even been released in the UK yet but one of the locations where you can find Pokemon is in the car park of the Plymouth Science Park.

It is an ‘Electabuzz’ which looks like a yellow, stripy, cartoon goblin crossed with a tiger. Players are meant to find it, train it and capture it.
