Firearms officers issued with Body Worn Video cameras

Today (Wednesday 17 March) sees the deployment of Body Worn Video (BWV) which is being issued to 270 Authorised Firearms Officers (AFOs), across Devon & Cornwall Police and Dorset Police.

The rollout of the cameras follows a successful trial and public consultation.

On Good Friday (14 April) Plymouth Argyle played an away fixture at Portsmouth, whilst Exeter City played at home to Barnet.

Legal firm's donation boosts city charity project

AN ‘at risk’ charity project, which supports people with dementia, has moved a step closer to being saved, thanks to a donation from Exeter solicitors Cartridges Law. Following extensive public consultation between December 2016 and January 2017, councillors at East Devon District Council have approved new measures, in the form of a Public Space Protection Order (PSPO), to encourage more responsible dog ownership across the district.

More than 2,000 pledges to recycle food waste has been made by Devon residents, thanks to a prize draw.

Last month Devon residents were given the chance to win a composting bin - if they pledged online to compost their kitchen or garden waste.

Exeter’s 14th annual Really Big Quiz, held at the Corn Exchange in aid of Devon Freewheelers, has succeeded in raising over £7,600 for the Lord Mayor of Exeter’s charity of the year.
