A pioneering boatbuilding firm is relocating to East Devon to manufacture components for the UK’s first fully electric workboat and charging station, in a move which will secure 30 local jobs.

Coastal Workboats Limited (CWL) will be building their new HQ and advanced manufacturing site at Honiton’s Heathpark Industrial Estate. The promotions, which took effect on 1 March 2022, will see two individuals become directors, three individuals move up to an associate director position and one become an associate.

Three Jaguar and four Land Rover retail sites in the South West are being renamed, following the acquisition of Helston Garages Group Limited by Vertu Motors plc in December 2022.

South West R&D and manufacturing business, Green Resource Engineering (GRE) has secured a six-figure funding package and trade facilities from Lloyds Bank to facilitate a £1.8M South Korean export contract.

The funding will allow Green Resource Engineering to provide industrial cooling systems to consumer electronics manufacturer LS Electric, allowing the business to reduce excess energy generation and reduce the lifecycle of carbon outputs.

Exeter City Council appoints Bindu Arjoon as its new chief executive

At an extraordinary council meeting on Monday [13 March], and following a recruitment process, councillors unanimously supported the appointment of current deputy CEO Bindu Arjoon.
