Family law solicitors reunited after 28 years

Solicitor returns to firm that launched her legal career

Experienced family law Solicitor Bridget Garrood has returned to The Family Law Company in Exeter - where she started her career over three decades ago.

Bridget first came across the company when looking for work experience with a local law firm. Norman Hartnell had just set up his own company, and when she got in contact, he was keen to take her on; not long after, he invited her to be his first articled clerk.

She remained with Norman for more than five years, before going on to work at other local firms, including as a Partner for 20 years.

Operation Tramline, a roads policing operation held over two weeks in Devon and Cornwall (3-7 and 10-14 July) on the M5, A30, A38 and sections of the A361, has been declared a success.

82 vehicles were stopped, and 105 offences were recorded which included 37 drivers using handheld mobile devices. Leading chartered accountants and business advisers PKF Francis Clark have announced that they are relocating their Exeter operation to larger premises in November.

160 staff members will move to Peninsula Business Park, Exeter, just a stone’s throw from the firm’s current premises at Vantage Point on Pynes Hill. The new office building will be renamed from Argal House to Centenary House.

South West workloads have slowed across all sectors of the construction industry as Brexit delays investment, according to the Q2 2017 UK RICS Construction and Infrastructure Market Survey. Investigative works underway at former St Margaret’s School to preserve Grade II listed buildings

Sustainable property developer, Grenadier Estates, is set to commence investigative works at St Margaret’s, a former listed school in Exeter, which will create more than 40 luxury homes in the heart of the St Leonards’ Community.

Two artists are creating opportunities for people to explore, reflect on and shape the future of Exeter’s green spaces.

The artwork is part of an overall plan to improve the Riverside Valley Park, which is loved by visitors and residents of Exeter alike.
