Big Wave Media staff join nation of lifesavers to boost cardiac arrest survival

The chance of surviving a cardiac arrest has been boosted, thanks to the staff at Bigwave Media in Exeter and the British Heart Foundation (BHF). The creative agency decided to join the BHF’s force of Nation of Lifesavers by training ten of their staff in Exeter, to learn life-saving CPR (Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation) skills. The staff were trained by Hilary Sanders, who is the coordinator and a trainer for a BHF Heartstart Community Group based in Kentisbeare near Cullompton. Thomas Westcott Chartered Accountants has announced that partner and head of its audit team, Shona Godefroy, has been promoted as the firm's new deputy managing partner.

Motorcyclist dies following A380 crash

One man has died following a collision on the A38 on the outskirts of Exeter.

Police were called at around 6.35pm on Wednesday 30 August following the reports of a single vehicle collision on the A380 Telegraph Hill, Kennford.

The vehicle involved was a blue Honda motorcycle ridden by a 36-year-old man from the Exmouth area.

The rider was treated at the scene before being taken by Ambulance to the Royal Devon and Exeter Hospital where shortly after arrival he was pronounced deceased.

Teignbridge residents are invited to two home composting roadshows in Newton Abbot where they could be in with the chance of winning a luxury hamper!

The roadshows, run by Recycle Devon and supported by Teignbridge District Council, will give people the chance to buy a compost bin and get advice and tips about home composting.
