Motorcyclist who died following Telegraph Hill collision named

A man who died following a collision on the A38 on the outskirts of Exeter has been named.

Daniel Harrison, aged 36 from Exmouth was involved single vehicle collision on the A380 Telegraph Hill, Kenford.

Mr Harrison was riding a blue Honda motorcycle when at around 6:35pm on Wednesday 30 August, he was involved in a single vehicle collision.

He was treated at the scene before being taken by Ambulance to the Royal Devon and Exeter Hospital where shortly after arrival he was pronounced deceased.

Initiatives to get Cranbrook residents fit and healthy are getting underway, after it was chosen as one of ten demonstrator sites for NHS England’s ‘Healthy New Towns’ programme.

The programme aims to put ‘health at the heart of new communities’, and radically rethink how we approach housing development.

Work required on Topsham Lock

Work needs to be carried out to an old disused lock on Exeter Ship Canal, the City Council has revealed. Steel sheet piling which was installed in the early 1970s to prevent the waters of the Canal escaping into the River Exe is showing signs of age and needs to be repaired. A more detailed inspection including ground investigation and access improvements which will lead to remedial work has been authorised to take place this month, under delegated powers. Staff from Forest Fuels have set themselves a team challenge of completing the Michelmores’ 5k charity run together, with the aim of raising £700 for Devon charity ‘Balloons’.

The run may not be taking place until 7 September, but the keen group of 14 workers – from Forest Fuels’ Managing Director to delivery drivers – have been training since May to ensure they are in tip-top condition for the challenge.

Striker Jayden Stockley says he wants to be a big part of Exeter City’s future having put pen to paper on a deal at St James Park.
