Exeter Racecourse hosted its first networking event of the year with a sell-out gathering that was buzzing with enthusiasm, as businesses from across the region came together full of optimism for the year ahead. Delegates enjoyed a productive morning of networking, followed by afternoon racing.

Exeter Birth Centre celebrates 5th Birthday

Midwives, mums and babies celebrated five years of the Exeter Birth Centre with a special celebration at the Royal Devon and Exeter Hospital last month.

The midwife-led unit, based in the RD&E’s Centre for Womens’ Health, supports women who have had a low risk pregnancy and who want a birth with minimal medical intervention.

Since it first opened its doors as a full time service on 18th November 2012, over 3,000 babies have been born at the Exeter Birth Centre, the very first arriving in the early hours of Monday 19th.

Overnight closures will be needed at Junction 30 of the M5 next week in order to safely complete surfacing at Sandygate roundabout.

Devon County Council has been carrying out extensive work at the roundabout over the past couple of weeks. From Monday (4 December) until Friday 8 December, the motorway junction will need to be closed for a further five nights, rather than overnight lane closures as originally planned.
