Exeter based financial planning firm Paradigm Norton has been honoured with the UK’s most coveted business award. Paradigm Norton is one of only 185 organisations nationally to be recognised with a prestigious King’s Award for Enterprise in 2026, with just 36 receiving an award for sustainable development.

Put your best foot forward! Don’t delay and sign up for the Men’s Walk 2018 – that’s the message from Hospiscare. The 2017 event was a sell-out success, so would-be walkers are being urged to sign up as soon as possible so as not to miss out on a place on next year’s walk.

The walk, which will take place on Saturday, 17 March in Exeter, will follow a new 7-mile route starting and ending at the Double Locks canal-side pub. To keep spirits high there will be live entertainment and refreshments along the way.

WARNING: Ice on Devon's roads each night this weekend

Road users are being warned that widespread ice could affect the county’s roads over the next three nights.

Freezing conditions are again forecast across the county and road surface temperatures are expected to plummet to as low -2C from tonight, Friday 5 January.

Devon County Council is advising people countywide to take extra care as icy patches may be a problem in areas of the county affected by water run-off, particularly on minor roads, following recent rainfall. The worst conditions will occur overnight and in remote areas such as the moors.

There’s a new interactive way to report graffiti in the city. The new updated system speeds up the reporting of graffiti and gives the public ongoing progress updates. The City Council cleans off for free any graffiti from private homes provided the owners sign a disclaimer form. The new system allows for real-time alerts to be sent directly to the clean-up teams, allowing them to prioritise and email customers to inform them that the job is complete. Leading local advice charity, Citizens Advice Exeter, is delighted to announce that Dennis Mardon has received the 2017 annual Hazel Ball Volunteer of the Year Award.

The award bears the name of our friend and colleague, Hazel Ball, who we sadly lost in 2015. Hazel first joined our Board in 1980, and was a vocal advocate for the work of our charity throughout her career and in retirement.
