South West business confidence falls, according to Business Barometer

Business confidence in the South West has fallen 16 points since May to 25 per cent, according to the latest Business Barometer from Lloyds Bank Commercial Banking.

Companies in the region report lower confidence in their business prospects at 25 per cent and lower economic optimism at 24 per cent.

Together, this gives an overall confidence of 25 per cent, which is 16 points below last month’s figure of 41 per cent.

As a new report is published that illustrates the positive impact employee owned businesses have on the economy, the UK’s first large law firm to become employee owned has backed calls for more support to encourage businesses in the South West to follow its lead.
