Electric vehicles are dramatically reducing Exeter City Council’s carbon footprint, the local authority has revealed. More and more of the City Council’s fleet of vehicles are being replaced by electric vehicles. Replacing its diesel fleet is making the city greener and saving the Council money on its fuel bills. One of Exeter’s biggest law firms has swapped law for litter picking, joining forces with Plastic Free Exeter to pick up litter along Exeter’s Quay. Eleven volunteers from Stephens Scown LLP spent two hours collecting litter from Exeter’s Quay on Thursday, 22 November. The group collected six bags of litter, which included lots of single use plastics as well as two deck chairs. Hendy Group has been recognised for its outstanding used car operations after being shortlisted for a national award.

The group – which has its Hendy Car Store in Exeter as well as its Hendy Honda and Hendy Iveco dealerships – has been shortlisted for the Used Car Dealer Group of the Year prize. The winner is set to be announced at a glittering awards ceremony in London later this month.
