A DEVON care provider has welcomed a government campaign launched this month (December 2018) to encourage more people to work in adult social care.

Guardian Homecare in Exeter says the Department of Health and Social Care’s (DHSC) pilot initiative represents a step in the right direction in recruiting more people into the industry.

The first in a series of Suicide Intervention Briefings has been held for council staff across South and West Devon.

The briefings are part of an initiative from the Community Safety Partnership (CSP), which includes Teignbridge and South Hams District Councils and West Devon Borough Council, and are being held in conjunction with Public Health Devon and Action to Prevent Suicide.

There is a new team of entrepreneurs topping the 2018 Children’s Hospice South West (CHSW) £50 Challenge leaderboard.
