Great South West Regional Roadshow series kicks off with Devon business leaders backing strong role for region on national stage

Business leaders and regional stakeholders convened at the Devon Regional Roadshow to discuss economic priorities and making the case on the national stage.

The Great South West Pan-Regional Partnership launched its series of Regional Roadshows with an event in Paignton on 12 June, in partnership with the Devon & Plymouth Chamber of Commerce.

Local business leaders had the opportunity to identify the key issues which need to be advanced with the incoming Government following the General Election on 4 July.

Food lovers all over the county will welcome the news that Devon County Show is to increase its food offering to make it an even more mouth-watering experience for 2019.

Aside from the ever popular Food & Drink Pavilion dedicated to West Country food producers, there will be a new Food Walk at show which will be open to national and international food producers. This will be located on Avenue B, alongside the Taste of the West.

Devon County Show has been voted the best event in Devon, according to readers of the Primary Times, a publication aimed at parents of 4-11 years olds and distributed via Devon primary schools. An on-line survey, which appeared on the Primary Times website over a five week period, invited readers to cite their favourite family-friendly places and people across Devon in various categories. Lightfoot receives £3.2m BGF investment to bring its connected car technology to consumers and more fleet businesses

Devon's acclaimed Ladram Bay Holiday Park has finished its 75th anniversary year on a high after being declared the West Country's top destination for kids and adults. The Budleigh Salterton park scooped the top Diamond Award for Family Fun in the Devon, Somerset and Dorset region in November's prestigious Hoseasons Awards. New £300m vision for Exeter city centre revealed

A new £300m vision to redevelop a key site in the centre of Exeter has been revealed by the City Council.

The development concept for Exeter Bus Station includes housing, offices, restaurants and retail, as well as the possibility of a new multi-use entertainment venue.

For its next Well Built Community Fund, RGB Building Supplies is inviting groups, schools and charities to get in contact with details of environmental projects for the chance to receive £1,000 to spend at an RGB branch.
