Connecting Devon and Somerset (CDS) has today launched a fresh procurement to find new contractors to roll-out superfast broadband across the two counties.

CDS is working closely with Building Digital UK (BDUK) agency on the new procurement process. A leading civil engineer, who is playing a key role in major works to improve the resilience of the main railway line on the battered coastal route through South Devon, has achieved a top professional award.

Devon County Council is inviting applications for grants to expand its award-winning network of work hubs.

There are currently 15 work hubs across the county and Devon County Council has provided funding to help establish eight of those.

Exeter’s Ladysmith Junior School has been voted as the latest winner of RGB Building Supplies’ Well Built Community Fund and now has £1,000 to spend on tools and building materials at RGB Exeter.

The school received the most votes following a public poll where it was up against Sidmouth Amateur Radio Society and the UK Wild Otter Trust in Umberleigh.
