digiLab and KOYO unite to transform healthcare access in sub-Saharan Africa with responsible AI

UK-based AI company digiLab has partnered with healthtech startup KOYO to support better access to reliable healthcare in sub-Saharan Africa, beginning with a rollout in Nigeria.

The partnership brings together digiLab’s explainable, probabilistic AI and KOYO Navigate, a mobile platform that helps users understand if, when and where to seek care. The initiative responds to urgent systemic gaps, including a shortfall of over 200,000 doctors in Nigeria and an estimated 125,000 preventable paediatric deaths each year from diseases such as malaria.

BYD South West are excited to announce Exeter Chiefs player Immanuel Feyi-Waboso as an Official BYD South West Ambassador. Born and raised in Cardiff, Feyi-Waboso represents England at international level after qualifying on ancestry grounds.

Devon-based Taylor Wimpey staff joined thousands of others across the region as they took to their bikes on Cycle to Work Day on 1st August 2024.

Employees at the housebuilder’s head office in Exeter did their commute by bicycle, helping to keep traffic from the roads and cut emissions. Whilst some participating cyclists are based not too far from their workplace, others came from further afield - with one making the 13-mile trek along the scenic River Exe National Cycle Route from Dawlish.

Connecting Devon and Somerset’s successful Mobile Boost scheme has re-opened this week with a fresh £430,000 investment.

The scheme had previously run for two years, until March 2023, with more than £1.1 million of funding through the Heart of the South West Local Enterprise Partnership’s (HotSWLEP) Growth Deal.
