The Royal Devon and Exeter NHS Foundation Trust (RD&E) and Devon Partnership NHS Trust (DPT) have won a national bid to set up a new academy in Devon to improve care for patients.

The Devon Flow Coaching Academy aims to better manage a patient’s journey or ‘flow’ through the healthcare system by streamlining and redesigning processes in a way that benefits them, their carers and staff. It is expected to begin its work in February 2018.

Throughout December Devon and Cornwall Police will be making sure that the region’s roads are a safe place for everyone.

The annual Christmas operation to stop people driving under the influence of drugs or alcohol, through awareness raising and rigorous enforcement, is under way.

Any drivers involved in a collision and any motorists whose driving may lead police to suspect they are under the influence of alcohol will be breathalysed. If drug driving is suspected, drivers can also be tested at the roadside using a mouth swab device.

Tractor worth £30,000 taken from Bovey Tracey farm

Police are appealing for witnesses after the theft of a £30,000 tractor from a farm in Bovey Tracey.

The red McCormick tractor [pictured] was taken from the farm yard overnight on Thursday 30 November to Friday 1 December.

Police are appealing for witnesses and asking anyone who may have seen the vehicle in the area to contact them. It carries the registration number WA10 KWT.

They would also like to hear from anyone who may have been offered the tractor for sale.

Enjoy free cream tea at historic mill thanks to National Lottery!

One of Exeter’s historic attractions is opening its doors to visitors for free tours and cream teas.

Cricklepit Mill is the venue for the event which takes place between 10am and 12 noon on Friday 15 December. The historic watermill is home to the charity Devon Wildlife Trust and is located on Commercial Road close to the city’s Quay.
