The Devon-wide health and wellbeing charity, Westbank Community Health and Care, is delighted to welcome lawyer Henry Cross as its newest Trustee. Henry is a Senior Associate at Michelmores, specialising in employment law.

A father-of-two from Exeter, Henry already had a broad awareness of the charity when he met Westbank’s Head of Carers Services, Andy Hood, at a networking event a few years ago. When he subsequently learnt that Westbank was looking for a law-oriented Trustee to join its Board, he was quick to express his interest in the role.

Grant scheme awards more than £1.5 million to support Devon businesses

A grant scheme supporting rural businesses in parts of Devon and Somerset has awarded more than £1.5 million of funding over the past two years - becoming the top performing LEADER Local Action Group in the country.

The Making it Local LEADER Local Action Group, which is part of the LEADER European rural development funding programme, has now closed to new applications, having provided support to over 50 projects.

Having received significant funding from an international investor, Exeter based tech company Re-flow has seen major growth over the last quarter, including doubling operational staff, new offices and the onboarding of a series of national clients. 2019 is set to be very bright for the company and there is a call for more talent to come and join them.

Re-flow is an app-based workforce tool for businesses with staff working outside the office, on location, that need a solution to improve planning, communication and evidencing in the field.

Devon's gritters heading out as temperatures fall

Devon’s gritters were out in force over the weekend after being called out for the first time this season.

With road surface temperatures set to drop even lower tonight, Devon County Council’s gritters will be out across the county’s main roads again from 7pm this evening and then monitoring conditions overnight.

Temperatures are due to fall below -3C on Dartmoor tonight and are expected to be lower than -2C in northern Devon and the South Hams, and they may not get above freezing until after 9am tomorrow.
