For many families, this summer is the first chance they have had to plan day trips and holidays together, now that coronavirus restrictions have eased. This includes the estimated 14,910 people living with dementia in Devon.

Comedian and TV actress Dawn French has starred in a housing association’s video to promote kindness in its communities.

The South West’s largest housing association, LiveWest, linked up with The Vicar of Dibley star who agreed to feature as the narrator in a heart-warming ‘day in the life’ story of one of its residents.

This week Stagecoach South West are marking the 20th year of it’s oldest operational bus an ALX400 Trident, fleet number 17701, with a special in service birthday party. The event has been organised by Stagecoach South West Exeter driver, Damien Gardner who has a particular soft spot for the vehicle. Customer’s will be treated to birthday cake, a host of goodie bags plus get to see the bus kitted out with decorations!

The local branch of sight loss charity Guide Dogs is urgently appealing for a volunteer assistant treasurer to join the Exeter fundraising group. This role is vital for the group to continue, as it involves banking money raised from collections to help raise much-needed funds.

No specific expertise is required, and full training is given. This role will work alongside the current long-serving volunteer who is stepping down very soon.

CARL Bennett from Ogwell in Newton Abbot has returned to work at a Devon-based family-run printed-packaging company as its Production Operative after 18 years (August 2022).
