East Devon District Council and Natural Devon are asking people to ditch computer games, TV and social media in favour of experiencing the refreshing reality of the great outdoors as part of May’s Naturally Healthy Month.

Open Air Film and Chill in Devon

Film fans will be heading to Pavillion in the Park, Okehampton at the end of June as after details were revealed for a new open air cinema festival weekend.

Firm Open Air Film and Chill is set to bring two iconic films to the big screen, an all time favourite Top Gun on Friday 24th June and musical Dirty Dancing to the site on Saturday 25th June. Tickets are available to purchase online priced from £12, full details of purchase are available on the facebook page. Tickets are unlikely to be available to purchase on the night.

Fresh feel to Sidmouth seafront for Folk Week

Sidmouth’s Folk Week will see some changes this year to where the trading stalls are sited along the Esplanade, in order to provide more room for performers to entertain the thousands of people who attend the event.

The move will bring a fresh feel to the seafront as the Folk Week organisers, Sidmouth Town Council, the police and East Devon District Council’s Licensing, Environmental Health and StreetScene services have been working in partnership together behind the scenes to plan the event.

The team at Rusty Pig in Ottery St Mary has been busy testing traditional English recipes to help a food writer with her research for an Oxford Food and Cookery Symposium.

A DEVON public health campaign that helps parents care for their children when they have minor illnesses like common coughs and colds, without the unnecessary use of antibiotics, has been shortlisted for a national award.

The Listen To Your Gut campaign, led by Devon County Council (DCC), the Northern Devon Healthcare NHS Trust (NDHT) and the Northern, Eastern and Western Devon Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG), is a finalist in the inaugural Antibiotic Guardian Awards.

Stagecoach re-launches route to include Lyme Regis

Stagecoach South West is to introduce brand new timetables for one of their most popular routes which will now connect Devon with Dorset.

The new Service 9 will replace the existing Service 52 from 2nd May 2016, connecting Exeter to Sidmouth, Sidford and Honiton. A new Service 9A will operate between Exeter, Sidmouth and Seaton, replacing the 52A and including a new extension to Lyme Regis.
