Devon Air Ambulance Trust has secured funding for potentially life-saving journeys over the next 12 months – thanks to a renewed charity partnership with Thomson Airways. Staff at Thomson Airways’ Exeter Airport base have donated almost £13,000 since the partnership began in September 2015, and the airline has confirmed donations will continue for a further year. Money is raised in a variety of ways by Thomson pilots, cabin crew and ground staff based at the airport – from bake-offs to bungee jumps – and complements contributions made by passengers on the airline’s Exeter-bound flights....

The Chappell family, from Exmouth, have raised over £15,000 to help patients on the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) at the Royal Devon and Exeter Hospital in memory of mum Jacquie.
Jacquie, 55, spent several months being cared for on the ICU at Exeter before sadly passing away from heart failure in December 2014.

RSPCA inspectors are investigating after a dog was found dumped with a severely infected ear in Exeter.
The dog warden collected Trixie, who is thought to be a Staffie Sharpei cross, who was left tied up outside the One Stop Shop on Topsham Road. They contacted the RSPCA after she was found to be suffering from a skin condition and a really bad ear infection on September 4.
Trixie is now being treated at an RSPCA centre for her infection and investigations are underway into what happened to her. It is hoped she will make a full recovery and eventually be rehomed.
Devon and Cornwall Police have launched Youth Week - a dedicated week of action aimed at tackling some of the issues young people encounter.

The 14th Crediton Parish Church Christmas Tree Festival is being held from Thursday 1 December until Sunday 4 December. Over 70 community decorated and illuminated trees will fill the church and make an amazing display especially as the natural light begins to fade. The opening hours are 11am - 6pm (Thurs & Fri), 10.30am - 7pm (Sat) and 11am - 5pm (Sun) Admission is free.
