What do you keep just in case? Is it a safe little black dress that you wear when you are feeling no-so-slim, is it those bits of wood in the shed which are sure to come in handy someday, or is it an old PC or laptop? Unfortunately a computer, unlike the others has a sell by date. Whilst there will always be someone in need of wood or a lovely black dress, the computer industry is constantly moving forward with faster processor speeds, better graphics and larger memories. Your old IT can quickly become useless. With an average 3-4 year cycle of computers huge numbers of computers are being...

Exeter City stayed in the play-off places as they picked up a well-earned point at Luton Town.
The Grecians had opened the scoring midway through the half with a well-worked move that was finished off by Jake Taylor, but Danny Hylton levelled the scores with a close-range header. In truth, it was a backs-to-walls display, at times, for City as they defended superbly but they had moments of quality on the break and had the visitors made more of the few chances they created at the start of the second half they could have come away with all three points.

A dog-loving nine-year-old has raised hundreds of pounds for homeless hounds after challenging herself to a 20-mile sponsored walk around the Devon countryside. Faith Boxer, from Honiton, walked 20 miles over several weeks after splitting the mileage into four, five-mile stints with the support of her Gran, who helped her organise the whole thing and plan her route. With the support of family and friends, she managed to beat her initial £50 target and raise £410, all of which will go towards helping Dogs Trust make sure the dogs who are yet to find homes, have everything they need whilst...

The centuries-old Devon songs that are returning ‘home’ from Newfoundland
Songs which travelled from Devon to Newfoundland when fishing communities made a new life for themselves in the New World are to be heard in the county again in a concert and lecture recital tour which visits Exeter in April.
It’s estimated that over 60% of people living in Canada’s most easterly province can trace their ancestry to South West England, and Devon in particular. It’s a link that spans 3,500 miles and hundreds of years and today, the Devon-Newfoundland connection lives on not just...

Illegal skin lighteners, containing potentially harmful products, have been found on sale in our region.
Devon and Somerset Trading Standards Service say that the creams are similar to products which have been on sale in London. Trading Standards officers have seized a considerable quantity of illegal skin lightening creams that were being sold over the internet by a Devon-based trader.
The creams, which were being imported from the Philippines without any safety checks being carried out, contain hydroquinone, a bleaching agent.
