Exeter women now have the perfect chance to get a new wardrobe without spending a fortune. For £5, you can turn up at Exeter Phoenix on 14 June from 5.30pm, and for every item you bring, you can exchange it for something new. Plus if you run out of clothes to swap, you can take home any other item in return for a donation to SAFE - the only charity in the area that specialises in the support and protection of women, men, children and young people affected by domestic violence.

The fun of the festival starts on Friday evening (31 May) with a special food trail throughout the town in the local pubs and restaurants and continues throughout Saturday 1 June with a market stall running the length of Mill Street, a cookery theatre, live music, beer (and cider) tent, children’s competitions and much more.

There'll be cookery demonstrations in the pop-up kitchen featuring local chefs showcasing the very best way to use local ingredients.

South West Coast Path repairs carried out at Bucks Mills

Funding has allowed National Trust rangers to replace a badly worn out flight of steps at the pretty village of Bucks Mills on the North Devon coast. The steps have also been resurfaced and are now ready to help, both locals and visitors alike, access this wonderful section of the coast and enjoy the breathtaking views. The funding also allowed a new way marker to be bought and installed to help people navigate their way around.

A major scheme to reduce congestion and improve air quality in Crediton has been given the green light by councillors today. (Wednesday 29 May)

Local rescue charities and branches of emergency services, National Trust and Dartmoor National Park Authority are holding their second safety on Dartmoor day at Lydford Gorge near Tavistock on Sunday 23 June between 10am and 4.30pm.

Devon Wildlife Trust to open the gates to an undiscovered wildlife haven

Devon Wildlife Trust is opening Meeth Quarry nature reserve for the first time to the wider public at a free special event on Friday 31 May between 10.30am and 4pm.

Meeth Quarry, near Hatherleigh, is 150 hectares of rolling landscape, deep water filled lakes and beautiful views. The charity’s message for the day is clear: ‘Come on down and see what we’ve been up to’.

When Nathan Cox was looking for a workshop unit to relocate his angling business and its boat-building wing from Bristol, he found what he needed at Seaton – in the Riverside Units managed by East Devon District Council.

The RSPCA is warning gardeners to tread carefully to avoid harming the wildlife which may be living in their gardens.

Every year the RSPCA receives calls about animals with distressing and often fatal garden injuries which in most cases are completely avoidable.
