The Family Law Company appoints additional Shareholder

The Family Law Company has announced the appointment of experienced family law Solicitor Imran Khodabocus to Shareholder.

His appointment brings the number of Shareholders to ten, contributing to the firm’s succession planning strategy.

Khodabocus joined the specialist law firm in 2016. He now heads up the Domestic Abuse team, specialising in children and domestic abuse matters which are complex and sensitive. He also acts for children and grandparents in care proceedings.

Pavey Group has announced a major expansion of its insurance service offered to customers of Mole Valley Farmer co-operative.

Exeter-based heating solutions company ZERO stands to win a grant of up to £150,000 as one of the shortlisted companies competing to win the Shell Springboard Award for 2016.

Launched in 2005, Shell Springboard provides funding to UK entrepreneurs at the cutting-edge of the low-carbon economy. This year, funding awards of up to £150,000 are available for small enterprises with innovative, commercially-viable business ideas that reduce carbon emissions.

Free training for hotel and restaurant managers

Owners and managers of Exeter’s hotels and restaurants are being invited to a free training day to help them better understand their responsibilities when it comes to keeping their businesses safe.

The event, organised by Exeter City Council, features presentations from Environmental Health Services, Devon and Cornwall Police, Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue Service and Public Health England.

The event runs from 10am until 3:15 pm on Thursday 28 January at Jurys Inn, Western Way, Exeter, with lunch included.

Devon Delivers launches Business Promotion Grant

Businesses across Devon are being invited to apply for a grant to help them reach new audiences.

Devon Delivers, the County Council programme which aims to encourage businesses to relocate to Devon, has launched its Business Promotion Grant to help companies promote their goods or services to national and international trade audiences.

Grants of up to £1,000 are being offered through a competitive bidding process.

The funding will support eligible businesses to cover direct exhibiting costs of attending trade shows or events between February and December this year....

Devon Primary School Centred Initial Teacher Training has been rated ‘Outstanding’ by Ofsted for its 4th consecutive inspection.

DPSCITT was rated ‘Outstanding’ by Ofsted in 2003, 2006, 2009 and now again in 2016.

Andy Ogden, Programme Manager of DPSCITT said “We are obviously delighted. 100% of our last year’s trainees are currently employed as teachers, so we feel that this is an excellent place to train and are very pleased that Ofsted agree with us!”

Francis Clark, the largest independent firm of Chartered Accountants in the South West, today announced a merger with Princecroft Willis, a leading Accountancy Practice in Dorset and Hampshire.

The merger will take place on 1 April 2016.

The newly merged firm will have a combined revenue of £38 million and a team of more than 580 people across nine offices, consolidating Francis Clark’s position as a leading accountancy and advisory firm in the South West.

Lidl UK’s decision to locate a major regional distribution centre at a site near Exeter Airport is a huge vote of confidence in the area and will prompt other national retailers to follow in its footsteps, says property advisors JLL.
