Rob Baxter insists he and his Exeter Chiefs can ill afford to be distracted by events elsewhere in the Aviva Premiership today (Saturday) and instead focus their sole attentions on the visit of Sale Sharks to a sold-out Sandy Park (3:30pm)

With just one round of the scheduled season left to play, the Chiefs currently find themselves in unchartered waters, fourth in the standings and occupying the final play-off berth.

It's due reward for what has been a fantastic season for the Devon club, who have also notched up a second successive LV= Cup Final appearance, as well as a...

Dean Mumm insists he will have plenty of happy memories to take home to Australia once he brings the curtain down on his Exeter Chiefs career in the not too distant future.

After three seasons in Devon, the 31-year-old is set to run out for one final time at Sandy Park this weekend as the Chiefs prepare to welcome Sale Sharks in the Aviva Premiership.

A sell-out crowd will roar Mumm and his team-mates into battle this Saturday, but Exeter’s inspirational skipper doesn’t want his Westcountry experience to end just yet.

Instead, the 33-time capped Wallabies...

Waldrom calls for focus ahead of Sale clash

Unlike many of his team-mates at Sandy Park, Thomas Waldrom is well versed in what it takes to reach the end of season play-offs in the Aviva Premiership.

During his four-year stint with former club Leicester Tigers, the England international reached the semi-final on each occasion, even helping the Midlanders to lift the title against arch rivals Northampton Saints in the 2012/13 season.

Now - in his new guise as an Exeter Chief - the 32-year-old forward is flourishing in the Westcountry as he bids to help the Devon club to book their place in the play-offs for the first...

New challenge for Scaysbrook

James Scaysbrook has spoken of his pride at being part of the core group that have allowed Exeter Chiefs to establish themselves within English rugby’s top tier.

The 33-year-old forward is to bring to a close his six-year spell in Devon at the end of the season - and will head for a new venture in the Far East, where he is set to take up a new post as head coach of Kowloon RFC and also work with the Hong Kong Union.

A key figure in the rise of Exeter over the past few years, Scaysbrook will depart the Chiefs having amassed 122 league and cup appearances and eight tries to...

Chiefs thwart Saracens

There was no ‘Fat Lady Singing’ this time, instead it was the travelling tribe who were in full voice at the final whistle as Exeter Chiefs overcame rivals Saracens to claim a first-ever victory at Allianz Park.

Two tries from the free-scoring Thomas Waldrom (pictured), plus another from hooker Luke Cowan-Dickie, were the undoubted highlights for the visitors, whose hard fought win has edged them back into the final play-off berth with just one round of the scheduled season remaining.

Fly-half Gareth Steenson converted all three scores, as well as adding a first half...

Chiefs side to face Saracens

Rob Baxter says his Exeter Chiefs team look in “fine fettle” ahead of today's (Sunday) crunch Aviva Premiership encounter with Saracens (2pm).

With just two rounds of the scheduled season remaining, the Devon club know a first-ever victory at Allianz Park is essential if they are to keep alive their hopes of being in the end of season play-offs for the first time.

Defeat at Wasps last time out saw Baxter’s side slip out of the top four, one point behind fourth-placed Leicester Tigers, but with Wasps and the Tigers set to meet this weekend, the Chiefs could well capitalise...

Mcguigan up for the fight

With just two rounds of the scheduled Aviva Premiership season to go, Byron McGuigan says the belief is there within the Exeter Chiefs ranks to go and book themselves a first-ever play-off place. Although defeated 36-29 at rivals Wasps last Sunday, Rob Baxter's side remain just one place and one point away from the crucial top four placings. Next up for the Devon club is a trip to fellow play-off challengers Saracens on Sunday, May 10, before they wrap their campaign up with a home engagement with Sale Sharks on Saturday, May 16. As McGuigan acknowledged post-match at the Ricoh Arena, the...
