Ashfords headline sponsor for GWR

National law firm Ashfords LLP will be headline sponsor of the Ashfords Great West Run, formerly known as Exeter's Great West Run, taking place on 16 October 2016. The half marathon follows an exciting 13.1 mile route through the heart of Exeter combining the energy of the city centre with scenic country lanes and stunning views.

StartUp Britain tour visits Exeter

Following a high-profile launch at Buckingham Palace as guests of the Duke of York, national enterprise campaign StartUp Britain will tomorrow (TUESDAY) arrive in Exeter as part of a summer bus tour providing inspiration and support to thousands of aspiring entrepreneurs.

As an indicator of local entrepreneurial drive, new figures released by StartUp Britain for the tour show 363 new businesses were formed in Exeter in the first six months of 2016. This compares with 738 new businesses registered in the city throughout 2015.

New primary school to be built in Exeter

Devon County Council has issued a compulsory purchase order to enable work to start on a new primary school in Exeter.

The Trinity Church of England primary school is designed to serve the growing community at Newcourt off Topsham Road.

The school was originally planned to open in September 2016.

But building work had to be called off last autumn when Devon could not reach agreement with a number of landowners about rights and access to the proposed site of the school.

Our first ever fun family dog show takes place at Poltimore House on 14th August. Doors open a 10am with the first fun class starting at 11am.
