Exeter Chiefs take part in rugby mental health charity fundraising weekend

Restart Round is returning this December with a round of Gallagher Premiership Rugby fixtures dedicated to raising awareness and funds for the Rugby Players Association’s official charity.

This season, Round Eight of fixtures from 1-3 December 2023 will form Restart Round. Included in this will be Exeter’s away clash against Bath Rugby on 2 December where the charity will feature across gameday activations. Alongside this, each Gallagher Premiership Rugby club will help raise funds by hosting auctions and raffles that fans can get involved in.

Devon’s Free Tree Scheme about to em-bark on its fifth season

This year’s upcoming tree planting season will mark the fifth season that Devon County Council has been running its Free Tree Scheme.

As part of National Tree Week, which this year runs until Sunday 3 December, Devon will be handing out a total of 50 “free tree packs”, each containing 45 native broadleaved trees, to landowners and communities who successfully applied to the initiative.

It’s the third consecutive year that the County Council has received support for the scheme through the Emergency Tree Fund granted by The Woodland Trust.

Bishop Fleming employees raise over £4,500 for Devon charity

Employees at the Exeter and Torquay offices of leading audit, accountancy, tax and advisory firm Bishop Fleming have raised £4,505 for a Devon-based charity.

Earlier this year the two offices announced their partnership with Devon Wildlife Trust as their chosen charity of the year.

The firm, which delivers accounting, tax and advisory services to businesses, academies and charities and private wealth advice to individuals, held a charity quiz at Sandy Park on 23 November to support the work of the Devon-based charity.

Staff and residents at Barchester’s Cumberland Grange care home, in Exeter have been decking the halls, getting out the tinsel and unravelling the fairy lights, ready for a whole host of Christmas celebrations.

Cumberland Grange’s residents and staff have been busy putting up five large Christmas trees and other festive decorations throughout the home making it look like a magical winter wonderland with beautiful glistening lights.
