Race for Life turns Exeter pink!

Monday saw Cancer Research UK’s Race for Life team with the help of cancer survivor Lyndsey Balsdon, Snap Fitness, and Starbucks, paint the town pink across various locations in the City of Exeter.

The team at Snap Fitness took part in the event by holding a Spinathon. Starbucks also supported the event by handing out Race for Life Coffee cup holders to all their customers, and they even managed to turn their Coffee pink for the day to support such a fantastic cause.

Care Quality Commission maintains RD&E rating as ‘Good’ following inspection

The RD&E has a “strong caring culture” with staff committed to putting patients’ needs first, according to a Care Quality Commission (CQC) inspection report released today.

The RD&E has maintained its ‘Good’ rating from the CQC – with some services showing improvements - after the CQC carried out a rigorous but routine and announced inspection of many of the Trust’s acute and community services earlier this year.

A legal team from Exeter solicitors Cartridges Law will be taking to the road this May in support of the Law Society’s national campaign to ensure everyone has access to legal advice when they need it.

They will be holding free legal drop in sessions in St Thomas and Pathfinder Village over four dates in May and September.

Devon based theatre company brings Les Miserables to the Barnfield Theatre, in Exeter.

Following a hugely successful production of William Shakespeare's Macbeth this winter around the Devon area, the South Devon Players bring their production of Les Miserables; The Memoirs of Jean Valjean, to Exeter Barnfields theatre on June 7th 2019.

This drama, originally performed by the South Devon Players in 2013 to full-houses, is a non-musical adaptation of Victor Hugo's classic drama of love, hope, redemption and revolution.

The last major composition written by the Italian composer Rossini, his Petite Messe solonnelle, will be performed by Exeter Philharmonic Choir in June as part of its summer concert at the Northcott Theatre - a performance combining musical drama and colourful, memorable tunes.

Rossini’s Mass is a work of contrast and intensity, written five years before his death in Paris 151 years ago. Despite its title, it is neither ‘small’ nor ‘solemn’ but reflects the great talent which saw Rossini produce 39 operas in his lifetime.
