Now in its 47th year, International Women’s Day 2022 is taking place on Tuesday 8th March, promoting a world of gender equality and less discrimination. One industry that is still perceived as largely male-dominated is the construction sector. Tackling this stigma, Exeter based developer Burrington Estates employs a number of women in dominant roles, encouraging women into the industry. Mental health services at Cranbrook Education Campus in Devon are set to receive a £500 boost thanks to the Community Champions scheme operated by regional housebuilder Persimmon Homes South West.

Exeter’s Pyramids leisure centre closes for good

Exeter’s Pyramids leisure centre has closed for good after more than 80 years.

The site on Heavitree Road was planning to shut permanently when nearby St Sidwell’s Point opens in April, but the closure has been brought forward due to storm damage.

New bridge installed at Marsh Barton rail station site

A new pedestrian and cycle bridge has been lifted into place as part of the development of Marsh Barton railway station .

The installation of the 16-metre span structure over the railway line, which took place in the early hours of Saturday (26 February) morning, is a major milestone in the project.
