Winter preparations in place across Devon

Devon County Council is ensuring that communities are well prepared to keep Devon moving during any severe weather over the coming Winter months.

Devon has a network of 265 Snow Warden volunteers across the county – as more than 60% of towns and parishes in Devon have signed up to Devon County Council’s winter self-help Snow Warden initiative. This spectacular event has grown to become the biggest fireworks display in Exeter, and taken on a new dimension since moving to Westpoint three years ago.

Safety risk means cliff fall road will not re-open

An East Devon coastal road closed by a cliff fall during heavy rainfall in the Summer will not re-open, Devon County Council has confirmed.

Old Beer Road in Seaton has been closed since 12 July after a 25 metre section of the road fell away by around three metres.

Young Exeter executives qualify as accountants

Two young executives from Exeter firm Thomas Westcott Accountants, have qualified as a chartered certified accountants. Philip Cooke, 23 and Laura Kitchin, 22, who have both been with the firm since they were teenagers, have completed their studies and are now Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) accredited.
