Planned overnight closure of the A30 westbound, from Daisymount interchange to the junction of the A30/C832 near M5 Junction 29, will take place on Thursday 24th and Friday 25th January.

Victoria Park Tennis Club in St Leonard’s, Exeter, has secured Olympic legacy funding of £50,000 from Sport England’s Inspired Facilities Fund. Sport England today revealed that more than 1,000 local sports projects across the country have now received National Lottery funding through Inspired Facilities, which is part of the £150 million Places People Play legacy programme. Figures released by Devon and Cornwall Police today (24th January) show that crime across the Force has dropped by 5.5 per cent in the last nine months.

Flybe has announced it is to cut 300 jobs, with 100 reported to be under threat at the airline's Exeter HQ, in an effort to return the carrier to profitability in 2013-14.
As a result of the cost reduction plan announced today, the Exeter-based airline has commenced the consultation process that may lead to approximately 300 proposed redundancies. This would equate to roughly 10% of its current UK based employees.
It is expected that the majority of the proposed redundancies will, following consultation, come from Flybe’s Exeter HQ, Manchester and Newcastle.
