A new Functional Health Screening clinic will be launching in Exeter on 29th April at the Innovation Centre, Exeter, from 6-7:30pm.

Functional Health and Integrated Medicine are rapidly growing fields of healthcare, which focus on the person as a whole not the isolated symptoms.

Dr. Rajendra Sharma-a leading practitioner in these fields of medicine will host the launch. Lisa Portman and Terri Bainbridge, the founders of pioneering health-screening company, Thermalogica, will also be hosting.

DCC fails to reveal budget for deaf children

The National Deaf Children’s Society (NDCS) has reported Devon County Council to the Information Commissioner for failing to reveal how much money is available to fund education services for deaf children. Despite two warnings, it has been alleged that the council has failed to comply with a Freedom of Information request to reveal its budget. Investigation by NDCS shows, in the last five years, local councils in England have cut the money available to fund essential services for deaf children, such as Teachers of the Deaf. Sculpture is shimmering vision on campus

A kaleidoscopic sculpture providing optical illusions is now located outside The Bill Douglas Cinema Museum on University of Exeter’s Streatham Campus.

The shiny new interactive sculpture of mirrored stainless steel entitled ‘Reflected Vision’ allows visitors to see themselves and the landscape around them through the mirrored surfaces both inside and outside the 7ft structure. Exeter hotel announces new head chef

The Magdalen Chapter is delighted to announce the appointment of Matt Downing as Head Chef. Matt will follow in the foot steps of Ben Bulger who he worked alongside as Sous Chef since the hotel opened in 2012.

Crime falls across the region

Recorded crime across Devon, Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly has reduced in the last year according to figures announced today.

Overall reported crime between April 2014 and March 2015 reduced by 5.2% - 4,417 fewer crimes.

During the same period victim based reported crimes reduced 5.9%. The Force has seen a number of reductions in areas including burglary (down 9.7%), vehicle crime (down 10.4%), criminal damage (down 5.7%), and theft (down 12.3%).
