Heinrich Wimmer was born in 1964 and studied with Prof. Klemens Schnorr at the Staatliche Hochschule für Musik in Munich.

For over 20 years he has been organist at the church of St. Jacob to Burghausen, Salzach , where he initiated the construction of the church's Rieger organ.

He has given recitals across Europe and the Far East including all the major organ works of Johann Sebastian Bach, Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart and Max Reger.

Business networking group prepared for continued expansion

Wednesday 10th June saw Exeter based business networking group ‘City Wall’ host a launch event to mark its move to The Southgate Hotel, Exeter.

With a 30% growth in members in the last 6 months the group needed to ensure it was equipped to support its continued growth.

Two local organisations, City Runs and EDP Drug & Alcohol Services (EDP), have announced an exciting partnership which aims to encourage healthier lifestyle choices.

EDP will become the charity partner for City Run’s upcoming summer races including the Run Exe Summer 5k Series and Exeter 10k on Wednesday 29th July.

City Runs, based in Exeter, are an organisation that is about all things running.

They organise events, share local running news via their website and offer coaching, consultancy, event supplies and more.

New coastal teams to help local economies thrive

Seaside communities are being urged to create dedicated Coastal Community Teams to drive forward economic regeneration and a long-term vision, by new Coastal Communities Minister Mark Francois today (16 June 2015).

The government is providing over £1 million to set up 110 Coastal Community Teams to deal with the specific economic challenges faced by seaside towns and take forward a local strategy for success.

Appeal after woman injured in Dawlish

Police are appealing for witnesses after a woman suffered facial injuries in Dawlish in the early hours of Sunday 14 June.

A 44-year-old local woman is believed to have fallen to the ground on Millin Way, Dawlish Warren, at around 2am.

She was taken by ambulance to Torbay Hospital and was later discharged.

Officers are investigating whether the woman may have been hit by a vehicle.

A 22-year-old local man has been arrested on suspicion of assault and released on police bail until 27 August.

Limited supply of rental homes in city

New research carried out by Exeter Citizens Advice Bureau has revealed that there is a limited supply of suitable housing for students and other private renters in Exeter.

The findings are published today in a new report from Citizens Advice called Dispatches from the front lines of the housing crisis. Exeter Citizens Advice Bureau features in the report highlighting the issues faced in the city in relation to its growing student population.

Dedicated volunteers and staff who are the driving force behind Devon’s Community Transport schemes were honoured at a special ceremony on Thursday 11 June.

As part of Community Transport Awareness Week, Devon County Council held its 16th annual Community Transport Awards ceremony at County Hall.
