Have you got an old clock that you’d like to become part of an ambitious new art installation at East Devon’s Thelma Hulbert Gallery (THG) in Honiton?

After defeating other competing venues to win the chance to work with celebrated international artist Luke Jerram for this year's Museums at Night festival, staff and volunteers at THG are calling on the community to play an important part in Luke’s installation by bringing their unwanted clocks to the gallery.

Come and join a decorating blitz of Exeter’s exciting new community centre - The Beacon.

Volunteers are spending four days next month transforming the former youth centre into a welcoming space for all ages. We’re calling it The Beacon Blitz – you can sign up for just four hours or more on September 18/ 19 and 25/26.

Firefighters tackle Cullompton garage fire

Fire crews were called to a blaze in Cullompton last night.

Three appliances from Cullompton, Middlemoor and Tiverton were mobilised to reports of a garage on fire in Holly Way, Cullompton just after midnight.

On arrival crews discovered a garage attached to a house well alight and made pumps four. It was believed the roof and the house were involved.

A further crew from Tiverton were mobilised with the incident command unit and support vehicle from Honiton.

Crews used four breathing apparatus, one safety jet, two hose reel jets, one positive pressure...

Modern men in Exeter are adopting “he-tail therapy” to beat the stresses and strains of every-day life – according to a new study. Research found that more than eight out of ten British men are now as enthusiastic as women about hitting the shops to make themselves feel better.
