An exhibition celebrating the light, life and landscape of the West Country. Alan Cotton, one of the most revered artists in our midst selects a body of work from artists across the UK who are known for their love of the West Country and studies of the same. Beautiful paintings become the theme of this show. Given a subject as diverse and often challenging as our region’s landscapes and ‘lifescapes’, these Fine Artists have produced the most astonishing selection of styles, colours, moods and hues to excite and inspire you.
Many of the world's leading artists have enjoyed making posters for their exhibitions. These often took the form of original lithographs, printed by some of the great Parisian ateliers. The poster, by nature, is ephemeral and mint copies are rare so Brook Gallery are delighted to exhibit a selection of these striking prints.
The first cuckoo of the 2016 season has already been heard on Dartmoor, thereby heralding the long-awaited spring.
Over the last two years, Dartmoor National Park Authority, in partnership with Devon Birds and Exeter University, has been asking the public to report their cuckoo sightings.
During that time, we have collected over 2,000 records of cuckoos across Devon, with 90% of those records coming from Dartmoor.
This spring, we are again collecting as many sightings as possible. Please log your observations by going to our interactive map at www.dartmoor.gov.uk/...
