Premium fruit juice and juice drinks company Frobishers Juices Ltd has acquired drinks producer Five Valleys Cordials. The deal was made on Wednesday 8 June 2016.

Exeter-based Frobishers Juices been creating and supplying the finest fruit juices and premium juice drinks to the on-trade since 1992. Frobishers products are available across the UK and internationally in bars, restaurants, hotels and casual dining outlets.

Appeal for volunteers to work on historic tramway

Join Dartmoor National Park Ranger Simon Lee on Sunday 12 June as he leads a team of volunteers to continue working on the popular Templer Way walking route near Haytor. The day runs from 10:30 until 3:30 and starts at the National Park Visitor Centre, Haytor.

The Templer Way follows the route by which granite was taken from the quarries in the Haytor area during the 1800s on an 18 mile journey toTeignmouth on the south coast.

Exeter Northcott Theatre is delighted to announce its exciting autumn 2016 season.

This season the theatre has cut its £2 transaction booking fee. Instead, customers who want their tickets posted will be asked to pay a small charge to cover postage costs.

After seven years local actor Steve Bennett will return to the Exeter Northcott Theatre this Christmas. Steve will play the roles of Mr Darling and Tinkerbell in Peter Pan. Cars damaged in suspected arson attacks

Police are appealing for anyone with information about a series of car fires in Exeter this morning (9 June 2016) to contact them.

Police were made aware just after 2am that two cars were on fire in Church Terrace. Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue Service attended to extinguish the fires and no further damage was caused to other vehicles in the road.

The fire service was already dealing with another car on fire in a driveway of a property in Magdalen Road, and another car was reported on fire in Fore Street, Heavitree.

Coastal Recycling Community Fund donates £55k to Devon organisations

Coastal Recycling has awarded seven community grants, totalling £55,650, to organisations across Devon who aim to enhance community spaces, improve biodiversity, cultural facilities and places for outdoor recreation.

The grant funding, administered by national charity GrantScape, will support a variety of projects, including improving access at Exeter’s brain charity Headway, a brand new clubhouse facility for Bideford BMX and renewable energy heating for Topsham Community Pool.

Success for Exeter City Swimming Club in regional champs

Exeter City Swimming Club had a hugely successful South West Regional event this year with more of its swimmers than ever achieving the qualifying times required to enter. In total 43 swimmers qualified with 39 swimmers taking part in 182 individual races, with 47 finals being swum and a total of 20 medals achieved. All those that took part either beat their entry times or confirmed personal best times which is excellent given the hard racing they had taken part in recently.

Romantic suspense novel explores second chances

Fay Knowles, a former Exonian, has just released her romantic suspense novel “Love at Sunset”, which shows the determination of Violet and Gordon, a feisty older couple in love for the second time around, to enjoy their autumn years to the fullest.

The novel is a spin off from the short story of the same name, first published in “The Lady” magazine and featured in Fay’s first book “Sunbeams from the Heart – A Collection of Twelve Romantic Short stories”.
