Stagecoach South West has this year, strengthened its partnerships with Devon County Council and Exeter City Council in relation to the joint efforts to prevent and tackle antisocial behaviour in and around Exeter’s bus station, improving safety and the overall customer experience by providing greater visibility and linking its CCTV system to the city-wide network.

Devon’s Bicton Arena is officially Britain’s very best show centre.

A recent online poll conducted by Horse and Hound magazine asked readers to vote for their favourite venue and Bicton Arena was voted number one.

The formal opening of a state-of-the art £3 million ‘Advanced Engineering Centre’ - at Exeter College - a UK leading centre of excellence for robotics and virtual welding – has taken place.

Princesshay security team to walk 70 miles for FORCE Cancer Charity

Princesshay security team are challenging themselves to complete a 70 mile walk in 24 hours, whilst raising funds for its charity of the year, FORCE Cancer Charity.

On Thursday 12th July, the security team will start their venture in Dorchester via Abbotsbury, then through to West Bay, Lyme Regis, Sidmouth and Exmouth, before reaching Princesshay as their final destination. The team are taking part in The Maddox Challenge in memory of a former colleague Paul Maddox, based at another site, who recently lost his battle with cancer.

Two women from Exeter who run a coffee morning, and a group that supports families affected by diabetes in the city have scooped volunteering awards from leading charity Diabetes UK. More than 500 young people from across the greater Exeter area will be setting out on a summer of adventure as they take part in this year’s National Citizen Service programme.

Improvements proposed to reduce surface water in Exeter

A series of essential improvements to reduce surface water on roads in Exeter are being put to Devon County Council's Cabinet this week (Wednesday 11 July).

Councillors are being asked to approve a proposed £450,000 scheme for the upper Northbrook area of Exeter, which is at high risk of surface water flooding.

Devon County Council has been leading an investigation on the risk of surface water flooding in Exeter, working in partnership with Exeter City Council, South West Water, the Environment Agency and Network Rail to prioritise areas for improvements.
