FORCE Autumn Storm ride a big hit

FORCE Cancer Charity relaunched its popular series of cycle rides with a 55-mile Autumn Storm event.

It is the first mass participation cycle event FORCE has been able to stage for two years due to COVID.

The charity’s big summer bike ride – The Nello – went virtual for 2020 and 2021.

Have you ever wondered what your library card sounds like?

Come and have a play with our prototype library card music player and be part of its development. There will be an open session in St Thomas Library on Saturday 30th October. The idea for Library Card Music Player Project is to build music-generating devices that will be installed into three different libraries. Each device will produce and play a short melody created from a borrower’s library card and, every time a borrower uses the card, they will hear the same tune.

A new survey has revealed that a third of people in the South West find adoption difficult to talk about and 80 per cent say they don’t have a good understanding of how to start the process.

South Devon College with campuses in Paignton, Newton Abbot and Torquay celebrated the achievements of its University Centre students at a joint ceremony held over two days at Torquay’s Grand Hotel.

The event was hailed a double celebration as the college awarded its own degrees for the very first time.

Three people key to the creation of the new illuminated walk at Connaught Gardens in Sidmouth this Christmas met onsite recently to make final plans for the lit event.
