EX2 Group welcomes new apprentice electricians from Exeter College

Leading South West building services engineering company EX2 Group has welcomed three new apprentices this week, as they begin their professional training in Electrical Installation with Exeter College.

Christian, Alfie, and Harvey were welcomed to the Exeter offices by James Rayner (right), Project Manager. The apprentices will combine on-site experience with classroom learning as they work towards their Level 3 Electrical Installation qualifications. Meningitis Now urges young people to take up lifesaving vaccine

CHARITY MENINGITIS NOW are urging young people to take up a potentially lifesaving vaccination to protect against the disease.

The latest Government figures on the uptake of the routine school-based MenACWY teenage vaccination show an increase from 58.3% of those eligible to receive it in 2019-20 to 76.5% last year.

Whilst the charity has welcomed the increase in take up the figure is still not back up to the pre-COVID levels of around 88% and it is concerned that many young people are leaving themselves at risk.

Clear up continues as temperatures set to drop tonight

More than 150 highways officers worked round the clock to respond to hundreds of separate reports of damage caused by the wind across Devon today.

But with gritters being deployed tonight to counter the expected drop in temperature, and the amount of debris still on the network, people are being advised only drive tonight unless its absolutely necessary.

Storm Eunice update: ‘strong winds’ to peak on Friday and continue over weekend

Devon County Council is advising people to only travel if absolutely necessary with ‘extremely strong winds’ expected over the next few days and reaching a peak in the early hours of tomorrow (Friday) morning.

The Met Office escalated its Yellow Wind Warning for the region, issued on Tuesday, to Amber. And now a Red warning has been issued for northern Devon and it’s coastline.

According to diamond jewellery specialists, Angelic Diamonds, Exeter is among the UK's top cities for the unhappiest couples. Funding awarded to natural capital projects

Six local projects have been awarded funding through Devon County Council’s Natural Capital Challenge Fund.
