EX2 Group welcomes new apprentice electricians from Exeter College

Leading South West building services engineering company EX2 Group has welcomed three new apprentices this week, as they begin their professional training in Electrical Installation with Exeter College.

Christian, Alfie, and Harvey were welcomed to the Exeter offices by James Rayner (right), Project Manager. The apprentices will combine on-site experience with classroom learning as they work towards their Level 3 Electrical Installation qualifications. Independent charity Devon Communities Together (DCT) is providing a series of free training workshops as part of a whole package of support for community businesses in Devon.

Straight off the beach from protecting swimmers at Bondi, Trent Maxwell (better known as Lifeguard Maxi from hit TV show Bondi Rescue) will be visiting Bovey Tracey to educate our children about water safety ahead of summer.

Exeter builders merchant supports national campaign to help Ukrainian citizens

RGB Building Supplies is supporting the Builders Merchants Federation’s (BMF) national appeal to help the people of Ukraine by collecting essential items.

The Exeter branch of RGB has created a donation area where its staff, customers and those in the local area can drop-off items such as thermal clothing, bedding, sleeping bags, torches, first aid kits, toiletries, baby items, household cleaning items and non-perishable food.

A senior Exeter academic has warned that the government will fail to meet its ambitious tree planting targets without “major and rapid changes” to how the scheme is financed and run.

In its bid to reach net zero carbon emissions by 2050, the government plans to embark on “the biggest tree planting programme this country has ever seen”, with the aim of 30,000 hectares of trees planted per annum by 2025.
