Leading South West building services engineering company EX2 Group has welcomed three new apprentices this week, as they begin their professional training in Electrical Installation with Exeter College.

Christian, Alfie, and Harvey were welcomed to the Exeter offices by James Rayner (right), Project Manager. Barchester’s Cumberland Grange care home in Exeter invited Monkerton Community Primary School over for an Easter Egg Hunt in the garden. Cumberland Grange is very lucky to have such a great sized garden, making it perfect for Easter Egg Hunts!

Staff and residents hid 80 colourful eggs around the garden for the reception children to find, and they found every single one! One of Cumberland Grange’s residents Maureen said how much of a privilege it was to be a part of such a lovely day. Maureen took on the task of handing out the Easter Eggs to the children at the end.

It’s time to Join The Club!

Almost 30 community and voluntary organisations in an East Devon town are joining in a one-day bonanza to win new supporters and volunteers.

The Join The Club event on Sunday May 8, organised by the Love Topsham group, will have stalls and taster sessions from organisations as varied as the town’s Sailing Club, Walking Rugby Group, Flower Society and a range of fitness groups.

Don’t be fooled by new scams, councils say

The Local Government Association, which represents councils across England and Wales is warning residents to be aware of new scams and remind themselves of tell-tale signs that you may have been contacted by a scammer.

The pandemic saw a sharp increase in scams which included promises of a payment from HMRC to support individuals during the lockdown or offers of a vaccination booking for a fee.

However, councils are now warning that criminals are cold calling residents asking for bank details in order for them to receive the Government’s £150 energy rebate.
