Teddy Swims to headline TK Maxx presents Live at Powderham 2026

GRAMMY nominated vocal powerhouse Teddy Swims today announces a run of outdoor shows and festivals across the UK and Ireland for summer 2026 including a date in the Devon countryside.

The international chart-topper will head to TK Maxx presents Live at Powderham on Thursday June 25 as the latest headline artist announced for the live music event.

Trading Standards to 'test' more petrol pumps for accuracy this summer

Trading Standards will increase the number of routine petrol forecourt checks across Devon, Plymouth, Somerset, and Torbay this summer.

Usually around a dozen forecourts a year are tested – this summer up to an extra 20 will be tested, with a possibility of more if needed.

Fuel pumps are regularly tested by Heart of the South West Trading Standards Service to ensure that the pumps are legal.

The checks test if the amount of fuel a pump is showing the motorist is being dispensed is actually going into the vehicle.

An Exeter-based charity is celebrating after a £1,000 donation from a local housebuilder to help refurbish its charity shop.

We are very excited to welcome back British Comedian of the Year, and it's set to be a barrel of laughs!

The regional heats of the Petfringe Comedian of the Year competition will be held here at Sandy Park, where we already have a well-established comedy night.

Perfectly timed in the middle of a heatwave, staff and residents at Barchester’s Cumberland Grange care home in Exeter had a fantastic time celebrating National Ice Cream Day on July 17, a brilliant excuse to sample lots of cooling treats.

Overseen by Activities Co-Ordinator Gosia, staff and residents experimented with many different types of toppings and flavour combinations, from the exotic, to the alcoholic, and back to the traditional – sorbets, frozen yoghurt and good old dairy-based ice cream, they tasted and savoured them all.

Exeter kids’ charity shop plans fun packed day for grand reopening!

Jelly, a charity shop in Exeter selling low-cost, preloved children’s clothes, toys and books, is currently undergoing a four-week refurbishment.

The shop, which first opened its doors in 2015, will celebrate its grand reopening on 19 August. Plans for the fun packed day include: selfies with a real Jelly Teddy, cupcakes, goodie bags for the first 50 customers and a giant raffle with prizes ranging from craft kits to a children’s bike.

Trading Standards seizes large amounts of illicit tobacco

Trading Standards seized illegal tobacco estimated to be worth more than £200,000 in raids in Devon and Somerset on Friday (22 July).

The raids were conducted by officers from the Heart of the South West Trading Standards Service and supported by Avon & Somerset Police, Devon and Cornwall Police, and HM Revenue and Customs.

The seizure is one of the largest of its kind by the service.
