Local charity Hospiscare is delighted to announce that Rob Baxter, Director of Rugby at Exeter Chiefs, will be the guest speaker at their fundraising dinner on 4th April 2018 at the University of Exeter.

Newbie runner aims to raise £10k for Hospiscare and Derriford ICU

After unexpectedly losing his sister to an accident in 2003 then his brother from cancer in 2010, Iain MacDougall has decided to raise £10,000 for the organisations that looked after his siblings in their final days.

In order to get fit and raise money, Iain chose this year to start running. But this isn’t just your average fitness regime. Iain decided that he wanted to quite literally go that extra mile and spend two years working his way up to running a full marathon. Along the way he will be running 5k and 10k races and a half marathon.

Molly Watt, an inspirational deaf-blind woman, is visiting Exeter tomorrow (Thursday 12 February).

Molly will be at Cafe 55 in Northernhay Street, Exeter between 1pm and 3pm to discuss her book and her life, and will be signing copies of her book.

Molly is a Sense Ambassador (Sense is the National Deafblind Charity) and she also has had her own charity supporting people with Usher Syndrome (the condition that has taken her hearing and sight), she is currently in her first year of an education degree and has written and illustrated a children’s book which subtly tackles the...

Sampson Hall recently held a two day programme to develop the understanding of culture, leadership, and strategy with two Independent Schools.

The event was held at the beautiful Dartington Hall, near Totnes. The programme was extremely successful with the participants defining a clear and focused vision for the schools for the next five years. From this they derived clear mission statements which resulted in a detailed and understood plan with clear priorities set for the next two years to drive and align the work streams involved.
