Sampson Hall recently held a two day programme to develop the understanding of culture, leadership, and strategy with two Independent Schools.

The event was held at the beautiful Dartington Hall, near Totnes. The programme was extremely successful with the participants defining a clear and focused vision for the schools for the next five years. From this they derived clear mission statements which resulted in a detailed and understood plan with clear priorities set for the next two years to drive and align the work streams involved.

Both teams completed the two days feeling enthused and energised, every single team member felt they were now very much part of the plan and they all had a clear understanding of what they had to do to achieve the challenge ahead.

Their enthusiasm for the challenges ahead were then given an even greater boost by a talk given by Mark Ormrod, Mark was the first British triple amputee from the conflict in Afghanistan, on Christmas Eve in 2007 he stepped on a landmine and sustained life changing injuries.

Mark’s talk took everyone present through an honest and humorous account of his initial incident and ongoing journey, talking about the goals he set himself and continues to set in order to achieve what he wants from life.

It certainly put some of the business challenges in perspective and left all present with a feeling of renewed vigour and courage to achieve their aims.
