Over 100 business women were inspired as The Successful Women in Business Network (SWIB) held their annual conference and launched their SWIB Awards last month.

SWIB is a membership organisation for women who want to grow their businesses , an or develop their careers, with the support of other women, at regular networking events across Devon, Dorset, Hampshire & Somerset.

From little acorns - founder of Devon ecology business marks 15 years at the helm

The MD of an Exeter based business is celebrating a milestone in her career as an ecologist.

Sue Searle set up Acorn Ecology in Exeter in 2003 to provide ecological services to home owners, architects, developers and local authorities that include surveys of protected species.

She retrained to work in ecology at the age of 39 after a career in midwifery and nursing, first obtaining a degree in Biological Sciences at University of Exeter then a post-graduate diploma in Ecology and Conservation at the University of Bristol.

Plymouth Science Park hosts free Women in Business Networks

Plymouth Science Park hosted a sell-out free Women in Business Networking workshop designed to help businesswomen to address limiting self-beliefs and help their businesses to grow.

The course, run by coaching organisation In Good Company, encouraged delegates to identify and overcome elements that hold them and their businesses back.

Love Digital brings boost for women in business

A regional programme designed to help women develop their digital skills and improve business practice, has culminated with a conference in Exeter.

And fittingly, the Love Digital event took place at Exeter Library on Tuesday - International Women’s Day.

The Love Digital programme was funded by the Women and Broadband Challenge fund and supported by the Government Equalities Office. The programme is a part of Connecting Devon and Somerset and has been delivered by Cosmic, Peninsula Enterprise and Westward Pathfinder.

NatWest Venus Business Women Awards Networking Event

There was a veritable buzz of excitement as ladies who have been shortlisted for the NatWest Venus Women Awards gathered for a networking event at the Magdalen Chapter hotel. Hosted by Celia Delaney, the Awards' Devon organiser, and Tara Howard, founder of the Venus Awards, this was the perfect opportunity to meet old and new acquaintances and share news.
