TEENAGER Thomas Bond is embarking on a unique challenge - to help save our oceans.

The 13-year-old, is swimming in the sea, every month, for a year… in fancy dress.

Thomas is raising money for the Ocean Conservation Trust charity which encourages everyone, from individuals to communities and industry to government, to make choices with the health of the ocean in mind.

The keen swimmer hatched the idea after growing concerned about pollution, plastic waste and the plight of sea creatures.

Body found in search for missing Devon teenager

Police have found the body of a deceased boy in Cullompton this morning, Thursday 1 February.

The family of Patrick Henwood, a 14-year-old boy who was reported missing from the Cullompton area last night (Wednesday 31 January) and was part of an earlier missing person appeal, have been informed of this development.

Formal identification has yet to have taken place and police are not currently treating this death as suspicious.

The family of Leah Kerry, the 15-year-old girl who died in a drug related death in Newton Abbot on the 15th July, have paid a touching tribute to their daughter.

Police appeal after unprovoked attack on teenager in Exeter

Police are appealing for witnesses to an unprovoked assault where four young men targeted a 17-year-old boy in Exeter.

The teenager was on his bicycle in Pinhoe Road on Monday lunchtime [26 June] when he was set upon by a group of similar aged boys by Polsloe Bridge.

The offenders repeatedly punched and kicked the Exeter boy after knocking him to the ground.

One of them then attempted to steal the bicycle, which was damaged during the incident, before they all ran off towards Hamlyn Lane Playing Fields.

Police are appalling to the public for information on missing 15-year-old Luke Bayment.

Sergeant Colin Harper Neighbourhood Team Leader for Exeter said: “For Luke to not be in contact with anyone for this long is out of character, and we are hoping that someone knows of his whereabouts. Luke isn’t in trouble, we just need to know that he is safe and well and for him to get in contact with the police.

“Luke is described as 5ft 10in tall, of slim build, with shoulder length light brown hair.

"He was last seen wearing a white t-shirt and black jogging bottoms....

Missing teenager Mia Sens has been found safe and well.

The 15-year-old girl, from the Tiverton area, was found at around 7pm on Tuesday 12 July in Exeter.

She had been reported missing after last being seen in Broadclyst on Wednesday 6 July.

Officers would like to thank the public for their assistance with the appeal.

A 15-year-old girl who had been reported missing from Devon has been found safe and well.

Police had appealed for information about Abbie Grant, who had last been seen in the High Street area of Exeter on Tuesday 8 December.

Police have thanked the public for their help.

Police are appealing to the public to help them trace 15-year-old Abbie Grant who was last seen on the 8th December in the High Street area of Exeter.

Abbie is a white female, 5ft 4 tall, medium build with black shoulder length hair tied in a ponytail.

She was wearing grey jogging bottoms and a navy blue sweatshirt and has links to both Newton Abbot and Exeter areas.

Police are concerned for Abbie's welfare and need to locate...

Teenager dies in speedboat tragedy

Police have named the teenage girl who died following a fatal speedboat incident in Brixham, Devon, on Saturday 2 May 2015.

Emily Gardner (pictured), 14, from the Gloucester area, was trapped underneath a small speedboat, after it overturned, with three other people on board, just outside Brixham Harbour.

Officers were alerted about the incident by the Coastguard at 12.11pm. Lifeboat crews from Brixham attended and released Emily before taking her to shore.

Emily was taken to Torbay Hospital by ambulance in a critical condition but was pronounced dead a short time...
