Midi TV Awards to Recognise and Celebrate Musical Talent in Devon

Community arts enterprise the Music in Devon Initiative CIC (MIDI) are delighted to announce that the first “Midi TV Awards” will be held at Bomba on Exeter Quay, Friday January 26th from 7.30pm.

MIDI TV is an online TV Station, akin to MTV for Devon. The MIDI TV awards aim to recognise and celebrate the huge amount of musical talent in Devon, with awards across 10 categories for the public to vote for.

There will be an announcement in mid-January about five Devon bands performing alongside the awards, hosted by a comedian, with a panel made up of local music industry...

The government-funded Train4Tomorrow programme is running a Digital Jobs Fair on Wednesday 16 March 2022, to connect employers with local adults who have recently completed a digital bootcamp to gain in-demand skills.

A recent survey of the South West tech sector commissioned by Tech South West revealed that over half of tech companies in the region are finding it impossible or very difficult to recruit.

This is perhaps par for the course given the meteoric growth of the region’s tech sector, which has seen an increase in Venture Capital investment of over 500% since 2016 and a corresponding boom in job roles to fill.

Thatchers Cider bursary recipients will be trading for the first time at eat:Tiverton on 26th September.

The bursary allows first-time traders to take their first step into the eat:Festivals family, the award-winning food and drink festivals that take place throughout the West Country.

PiQi, Vic's Little Kitchen, Bennetts Kombucha and I am Cultured will all be trading for the first time at eat:Tiverton.

Local talent given opportunity to take centre stage at this year's Exeter Festival

Local bands and solo performers are being given the opportunity to take to the stage at this year’s all new Exeter Festival.

The call has gone out for local talent to appear at the Festival, which takes place during the first weekend of July.

Bands and solo performers are being asked to send in examples of their music to Festival organisers, who will then select the acts.

The UK’s favourite singing show, The X Factor, is back and on the lookout for the next big breakout music stars with the audition team back on the road, scouring the country for budding hopefuls to take part in series 16 of the hit music show.

Buskers will bring a splash of colour and the sound of music to Princesshay over the summer solstice at the launch of a brand new Busking Festival. Musicians and performers are expected in Princesshay Square on Thursday 19 and Friday 20 June from 11am until 7pm each day.
