Beaford Arts and China Plate present The Common. Spring 2014, five writers went to North Devon to explore what the rural environment means to its people. They got to know old farming families, incomers and returnees. The garden and parkland at Killerton estate near Exeter, is one of the top places in the Southwest to see early spring blooms; and this year they are putting on quite a show.

Visitors are flocking to Killerton to herald the end of winter and see the carpets of cyclamen and swathes of snowdrops before they fade. Flashes of pink, purple, yellow and white can be found all over the grounds, with the magnolia, crocuses and daffodils also springing into life.

Following the success of Winter Stories and Snow Crafts at Devon’s Crealy Great Adventure Park with Devon Libraries, the second event in the partnership has been announced. Spring Stories and Mother’s Day Crafts will take place at Devon’s Crealy on Wednesday 11th March 2015.

Guests of all ages are invited to join Buddy Bear and story tellers from Exeter Library at Mamma Mia’s Restaurant at Devon’s Crealy Great Adventure Park from 10am – 1pm for interactive spring time stories and creative Mother’s Day craft sessions.

Top UK competitors will be taking part in Devon County Show’s Lamb Shearing and Dog Trials Event on Sunday (August 10) at Sidbury, near Sidmouth.
