Exeter students to cycle 2,000 miles to Greece in charity fundraising challenge

Two University of Exeter students have set off on an epic 2,000 mile sponsored bike ride to Greece.

Jeremy Daubeny and Lottie Hinton have embarked on the 10-week trip to raise money for the Brain Tumour Charity and Motor Neurone Disease Association.

Last year, Jeremy, who is in his second year of studying for an Economics and Politics degree, raised £37,500 cycling around the UK to support two charities that helped him when he lost his mum and dad.

THE CO-OWNER of an award-winning Devon gastropub will shave his head in aid of charity this month (May, 2020).

Paul Berry, who co-owns The Swan in Bampton with his wife and fellow award-winning chef Donna, will be braving the shave on May 17 to raise money for Churches Housing Action Team (CHAT).

He said: “As I can’t get to a barbers at the moment and, like many other people are doing, I thought I would shave my head, however, I have decided to do it in aid of a very worthy cause.

Six Exeter friends to embark on a 670-mile charity cycle ride

Six men will be embarking on a 670-mile cycle trip across Europe next month, with the help of Exeter City FC, in memory of a friend and to raise much-needed funds and awareness for three charities.

The six cyclists – Steve Christie, Christian Webber, Mark Reece, Pete Wallington, Mark Holmes and Rich Cook – will peddle from Portsmouth to Munich on Wednesday, September 19. The date is the birthday of their good friend Jason Cloke who, due to a genetic illness called haemochromatosis, died at the age of 42 in 2010.

Exeter City staff join PCUK charity cycle from London to Amsterdam

A team of cyclists from business across Exeter will be taking part in a charity bike ride from London to Amsterdam, including three members of staff from Exeter City FC.

The team, which includes our hospitality and events manager Jake Wood, finance assistant Lynn Travis and media manager Simon Larkins, are taking on the 145-mile trip to the Dutch capital to raise money for Prostate Cancer UK.

Old Mill staff ride 200 miles in memory of colleague

Staff from Old Mill will ride 207 miles this summer in memory of Exeter employee Nick Baker, who sadly lost a short and sudden battle with cancer in August last year.

Starting on Saturday 8th July, 16 of Nick’s colleagues will begin a four day challenge which will see them ride from St Malo in France back to the Old Mill offices in Yeovil.

Day one will be a 44 mile ride from St Malo to Saint Michel and on day two, the riders will travel 66 miles to Lessay. On day three, they will ride 46 miles to Cherbourg where they will board the ferry back to Poole before completing the...

Staff and customers of WH Smith Exeter store are set to trek across Dartmoor, completing 30miles over 2 days on 10th/11th June 2017 in aid of mental health charity Mind.

Richard Boyter, 33, who works for WHSmith in Exeter, is walking with staff and customers to raise £1000 by trekking across Dartmoor.

Starting at Fingle Bridge with the Finish at Bovey Castle. Richard has been inspired by the company's 225 fundraising campaign but this has become a more personal challenge after experiencing issues with his own mental health in the past year.
