Okehampton Station

Inspired by the run-away hit movie produced by Warner Bros. Entertainment and the award winning book by Chris Van Allsburg, this very special train ride is inspired by magic and designed to delight and inspire your family this festive season.

Wanted: Father Christmas thrill-seekers

A number of local and national charities are looking for daredevil volunteers to jump from a perfectly good aircraft, dressed as Father Christmas.

Skydive UK, near Honiton, have launched their annual Santa Skydive this week, set to take place from 27-29 December.

Up to 120 charity fundraisers will jump 15,000ft dressed as Father Christmas to raise money for good causes.

The traditional jumpsuits will be replaced with Santa outfits, and although Father Christmas had been invited, he's apparently declined due to the “busy time of year”. His reindeer will be having a...

It is hoped the event will see hordes of Santas stepping safely off the top of the local landmark, 80 feet up in the air. Action for Children fundraiser, Jamie Lee, said: “Christmas can be a very difficult time for many families. By dressing as Santa and...

Christmas is fast approaching and with the colder weather also arriving, cosy chimney fires are being lit. Devon & Somerset Fire & Rescue Service are encouraging you to check your chimney is clean, safe and swept for Santa’s arrival.

Chimney fires can cause serious structural damage to a home, with the risks being even greater if the property has a thatched roof. The damage is not only fire based but also the dirt and smell left from all the soot and smoke, which would affect your personal property, including all your Christmas presents.

Chimneys...
