The success of the Exeter Foundation was highlighted in all its glory as 18 local charities and organisations were rewarded at Saturday night’s Season Launch Dinner held at Sandy Park.

A grand total of £47,000 – raised through various fundraising activities last season, including match-day bucket collections – was distributed to the charities and organisations following another hugely successful year for the charity by the Lord Mayor, Olwen Foggin.

Children to celebrate RWC at Sandy Park

Exeter Chiefs Rugby Club will be welcoming over 200 schoolchildren to their Sandy Park Stadium next Friday (September 18, 9:30am – 3pm) to mark the official start of Rugby World Cup 2015. For the past year, 20 schools in and around the Exeter area have each adopted one of the participating countries at this year’s tournament – and carried out a wide range of school work, projects and activities aimed at helping to promote the event, which itself will come to Exeter for three fixtures during September and October. Already youngsters have showcased their work within the classrooms to...

Another key re-signing for Chiefs

Just days after securing the long-term futures of Sam Hill and Tomas Francis, Exeter Chiefs head coach Rob Baxter has moved swiftly to tie down another of his first team squad until 2017.

Keen to ensure continuity within the playing ranks at Sandy Park, Baxter has now added Australian forward Mitch Lees to those extending their stay with the Aviva Premiership club.

Lees, 26, joined the Chiefs ahead of the 2014/15 season from London Welsh and quickly established himself as a key figure in Baxter’s plan, featuring in 24 games last season.

Like newly-capped Welsh...

In terms of a first outing, it had a bit of everything, but Rob Baxter knows there is still plenty to work on for his Exeter Chiefs ahead of the new 2015/16 season.

Five tries in attack were certainly the key highlights, but shipping six in defence was somewhat of an issue for the experienced Exeter leader at the final whistle which saw the Chiefs victorious by 41 to 38.

Of course he will focus on both the good and the bad over the coming weeks, but it was the former which far exceeded the latter in terms of the overall package in this exciting West Country Challenge Cup...

Chiefs name squad for Singha Sevens final

Ricky Pellow says his young Exeter Chiefs side can expect “one hell of a night” when they take part in Friday’s Singha Premiership 7s Finals Night at the Twickenham Stoop.

For only the second time in the history of the competition, the Devon club booked their place – alongside defending champions Gloucester – in the capital showpiece when they advanced as one of two qualifiers in Group B last Thursday.

Although defeated by hosts Gloucester in their opening game of the night at Kingsholm, Pellow’s charges bounced back to record victories over Bath and London Irish to set-up...
