Go along to Powderham Castle on Easter Sunday for the 10th Silly Mini Sunday.

Watch a convoy of minis drive through the courtyard in the afternoon - a great spectacle and something any mini enthusiast in particular will want to see.

The theme this year is 'Under the Sea' so expect to see wave of minis and their drivers dressed accordingly to raise money for Children's Hospice Southwest.

Expected time of arrival 2.30pm. (Included in Castle admission)

Spooky sessions will take place at 1.30pm, 3.00pm and 4.30pm.

The session will start in the Courtyard, taking you to the Pleasure Garden and then inside the Castle.

Plans for huge pig farm scrapped

The Earl of Devon's Powderham Estate has scrapped plans for a pig farm in east Devon.

It had been proposed that the farm would accommodate up to with up to 8,000 animals on land beside the Exe Estuary owned by JMW Farms and the estate.

Concerns had been raised by local residents who set up a website called Stop Powderham Estate Pig Factory.

They were concerned over a number of issues including noise and smell.

Died peacefully on 10th October 2015.

Devoted wife of the late Antony Watney, beloved mother of Michael and his wife Louise and grandmother of Sally and Philip.

She enjoyed a life devoted to family, friends and Powderham.

Funeral Service on Wednesday 21st October at St Clement's Church, Powderham at 2pm, followed by private cremation.

Urgent investigation launched by RD&E after patient records found on side of busy road

An urgent investigation has been launched by the Royal Devon & Exeter Hospital Trust into how confidential patient records, which were being transported to Exeter from Torbay Hospital, ended up on the side of a road.

Two courier bags containing a small number of medical records were found by a member of the public on the A379 near Powderham Castle on Wednesday.

The RD&E Trust say they understand that their own courier service was being used to carry the documents.

They say they take patient confidentiality very seriously and are deeply concerned the packages...
